Understanding the NExT Structure:
NExT is divided into two parts:
- NExT Step 1: A theoretical examination conducted after the final year of MBBS.
- NExT Step 2: A practical and viva voce examination conducted after the internship.
The Strategic Shift:
Interns now need to balance their clinical duties with the rigorous preparation required for Step 2. Clinical weightage in Step 1 has also been increased, meaning bedside learning during the final year is more critical than ever.
